USA Today Feature on Hemingway

The June 30th issue in the Life section of USA Today had an informative piece written by Craig Wilson on Hemingway’s life. The story talked about the upcoming 50th anniversary of Hemingway’s death (July 2, 1961). The story also mentioned author Paul Hendrickson and his new book Hemingway’s Boat: Everything He Loved in Life, and Lost, 1934-1961. The book is due out this Fall. I have heard some members of The Hemingway Society (email) think the book has potential. Hendrickson states “much of our view of who Hemingway was has more to do with us than with the man. Hemingway makes us uneasy.”

There was also mention of the first volume of Hemingway letters being published come Fall according to Sandra Spanier of Penn State. We can expect 16 volumes when all is said and done. Check out the article it’s worth the read.
